Loud, proud and unbowed, Myers is back on the air

For more than three decades, his voice has echoed through the Boston sports media scene, and many people have not liked what they

“The best sportscaster he ever saw.” I guess we can say that Myers doesn’t lack confidence, of course he doesn’t help his cause with such statements.

I’ve seen Jimmy Myers on television over the last 20+ years, and I’ll agree that he has talent, but his own assertions about how good he is are simply over the top.

Myers doesn’t get top jobs because he is out of touch. Ratings and dollars rule the radio/tv world and Myers’ approach to broadcasting won’t maximize either. He hurts his own cause by not being smart enough to know how to package his own message in a palatable way so that he actually achieves what he wants. Instead, he thinks he is heroic by being unabashed and direct. The end result is that he doesn’t have a pulpit from which to speak.

That’s his fault and no one else’s.

Wow, Jimmy left out the part where he developed the vaccine for Polio and shot down 12 enemy aircraft.

Look, I’m not vindicating the plethora of pinheads that sit behind the microphone in this city but let’s not lose sight of the fact that Jimmy has no “stage to perform on” because he’s bitter, egotistical and frankly a big pain in the ass. It’s not a black or white issue, he’s just unlikeable. That Gumble story was classic Myers, insult and ego. First Jimmy calls Greg out as an Uncle Tom, then tells us that Gumble thought he was “the best sportscaster he ever saw.”

I’m stunned he thinks that anyone is still interested in talking to Terry Glenn. Move on Jimmy, nobody is really interested in you anymore either.

Yeah he has a big ego but so do D&C and Meyers is more interesting; to me at least.
Wish I could get the signal up here in maine. I would love to give a listen.

Did Molori bother trying to get the other side of the story in any of those Myers anecdotes?

There is an old saying pick and choose your battles. Perhaps one day that might sink into the skull of Jimmy Myers. Then again I doubt it!!!

The bottom line….Meyers has no personality.
