Anatomy of a deal gone bad at WEEI

Money, they say, is the root of all evil. It is also the root of on-air changes in big time sports radio. Bob Neumeier

Could it be remotely possible that WEEI’s stratospheric ratings are primarily due to a Red Sox World Series championship and back-to-back Patriots’ Super Bowl titles, and that station management and on-air talent are simply riding the coattails of the local teams’ conquests?

Mmmmm… nah.

I will miss Neumy…Dale Arnold is strictly a “company man” and is soooooo very lucky to be where he is…I guess I will listen elsewhere!!!

Neumy was mildly amusing, but I often find that he is far to full of himself. The course of negotiations seems to concur with that thought. He is not worth paying a high salary, I wonder what Dale’s true feelings are? WEEI brought Neumy’s career back from the abyss. I doubt he will even bring in a paycheck in the future the will come close to what he turned down.

This is Neumy

There is no big loss as far as on air talent goes at WEEI.
They have definelty been carried by the success of the two major teams in town.
The ego’s of the hosts are out of control.
All the big show wants to talk about is themselves.
Yeah yeah we know your fat. We get it already.
Ordway is the biggest fraud going. He really see’s himself as bigger than the sports.
Hey Glenn there are plenty of us who follow you back 25 years through many mediocre and some emmbarasing carreer moments (see Janet Prensky)
Now Neumy believes that he too is all important because he reads a buch of stats from the internet.
What a joke

I was both surprised and disappointed to hear that Neumy was leaving the midday show, back in 2002 I found I just couldn’t take any more of Eddie & Dale together and was very happy when Neumy became Jambalaya’s permanent replacement; I found him knowledgeable, interesting to listen to and a straight shooter.

Dale on the other hand I have never been able to figure out, boring, thin skinned, whiny, self righteous and a true company man. They should bring back Neumy, dump Dale and add Michael Holley that would make a great midday show.

Ordway is a complete untalented fraud, it has amazed me how he has been able to last for so long in Boston and they are actually trying to resign Pete Sheppard? Are you kidding me? This untalented blowhard must have some really good compromising pictures of Jason Wolfe to even be considered for a new contract.

WEEI had better hope that 1510 doesn’t ever get their act together an offer some true competition in the Boston all sports market, because if they do you will see the ratings reflect some of the lightweight on air talent that ‘EEI really has.
