I think you give Burton way too much credit here. It was valid for him to try and get specifics on the injury, knowing that he wouldn’t. However, the question about playing Bruschi on special teams is ground well covered in this town. Asking that question at that time wasn’t fearless; it was an opportunistic attempt to start a controversy. Sadly, you are lauding him for it.
Kudos to Steve Burton for getting Bruschi say he’s fine? Good god man - he didn’t find out anything by questioning Belichick or Bruschi. All Burton was trying to do was pee higher on a tree than other reporters. Burton, by his actions, admitted he’s a nobody trying to make a name for himself. And he did it in Borges-like fashion. That style of reporting is already archaic, thank goodness.
This was a bad blog sucking up to media types - not the readers. Do better.
